Chinsukou is a baked cookie that is made of flour, sugar and lard. There are various theories about the origin of Chinsukou, but the most well-known theory is that it was originally from China and arranged by Okinawan people according to the warm climate.
It was used to be expensive snacks only for nobles when they were having celebrations.
How to make (Easy!):
  • Mix room temperature lard and sifted flour until the mixture get creamy.
  • Add sugar and mix quickly until smooth.
  • Form it and bake it in the oven for 15-17 min (170℃).
The basic taste is salty, but various flavors are released such as Okinawa’s famous brown sugar taste, fruits taste......etc.
