What Is Karinto (Fried Dough Cookie)?

Karinto (Fried Dough Cookie) is one of the Japanese traditional snacks.
We have multiple theories as to where it is originated from: some say it’s from overseas while others say it used to be loved by Japanese aristocrats around the year 700. Japanese people usually recognize it as one of the familiar traditional snacks.
You can even make it yourself! It’s quite simple! Knead the dough (the ingredients: baking powder, cake flower, raw sugar and white sesame seeds) and deep fry it. You can even add some of your favorite flavors to it after you fry it.
