This was my first time trying karinto. It's kind of like if you deep-fried a sugar-coated churro so the outside was hard and the inside slightly chewy. There's a slight flavor of oil to the sweet fried dough, but it's not greasy. I think this is a surprisingly filling snack, and just one at a time is plenty. It goes well with coffee; in fact, I'd say you could skip putting sugar in your drink if you have one of these with it.
